Passion For Design And Creation
An inspiring start-up story built on entrepreneurial ambition, craft and creation.
Laura Ashley’s journey from humble beginnings marks its 70th year in 2023. Her early passion for design and creation began in the refashioning of patchwork, inspired by her time with the Women’s Institute. Her first step in building her business was to invest £10.00, and at her kitchen table begin screen printing tea towels and headscarves by hand.
Laura Ashley’s heritage is in fashion and design. In the 1980s her Book of Home Decorating was published and became hugely influential in home interiors globally. Since sadly passing away in 1985, the brand has gone on to collaborate with major fashion retailers Urban Outfitters, Rag and Bone, and Barbour.Â
Traditional Values, Quality And Originality
In kitchens, the brand’s rich history of traditional values, quality and originality are felt throughout all the ranges. Values that relate to the little moments in life, and how they often happen in the kitchen, are turned into design features that allow you to store your favourite cook books, glassware or selection of teas.
Our showroom demonstrates the Harwood and Princeton ranges, both elegant country kitchens that are perfectly suited to kicking off your wellies, giving the dog a belly rub and brewing a nice cup of tea.Â
